CATHAYPACIFIC_777-300_B-KPL_LAX_1109_JP_small.jpgBeautiful GE90 engine on this Cathay 777-300. Each engine costs about $25 million. Each engine fan blade you see costs a mere $80,000!

AVIANCA_A318_N592EL_MIA_1011_JP_.jpg
AVIANCA_A318_N592EL_MIA_1011_JP_.jpgA318's are extremely rare. The cost to operate the airplane relative to the amount of passengers it can handle makes it a difficult airplane to make money with, hence it's relative rarity around the world. Avianca picked up the A318's from now defunct Mexicana (R.I.P.) and are used mostly out of Brazil, but make their way up to Miami too
VOLARIS_A319_LAX_0210jpnet.jpg
VOLARIS_A319_LAX_0210jpnet.jpgVolaris is a relatively new low cost carrier serving several cities in Mexico out of LAX. Every A319 in the fleet is named, this one is Veronica

zeroG_727_n794aj_fll_dec09b.jpgThe interior of Zero G 727 is mostly made up of leather padding. Synthetic padding is not used as per FAA in case of onboard fire. Zero G is a neat 727 that takes you up to 32,000 feet and then does dives and climbs which simulates weightlesness. NASA sends their people on flights and I'm told that civilians can also go, the cost is $3,000 per person (not sure how long the flight is)

n329mx.jpg
n329mx.jpgMAX was a regional carrier of the beloved Western Pacific Airways. I was very happy to be in Colorado Springs in 1997 to see the Westpacs come in and out of COS, that airline is sorely missed!
