All concordes were eventually fitted with protective material on the wings so that they cannot be pierced by anything the tires go over on takeoff/landing. Maho Beach in Saint Martin has always drawn people to it because of the airplanes over the beach, but it is now at the point that during peak winter season you can barely see beach anymore, just people. Good for business for the island I guess but that little beach can only take on so many people, it's relatively small. These folks are about to watch the Air France A340 come over the beach

This is the newest technology for ATC. Every airplane on the field's transponder is being picked up by radar and reflected on the screen. If any airport vehicles breach a runway, they will be visible on this screen. Note that areas in red reflect closed taxiways (construction/repair). At the time this photo was taken JFK was operating on the 4's and there was light snow falling (RVR4000).
